A 420-seat recital hall built to hold a solo cello and a full choir equally well, without touching a single curtain in between.
Bellwood’s brief was a single room that had to work for a solo recital on a Tuesday and a sixty-voice choir on a Saturday, with nobody backstage to change the acoustics between bookings.
We built the reverberation range into the room itself: a variable banner system along the side walls, motorised between two presets, plus a stage canopy that can be raised for orchestral work or dropped for amplified performance. The model predicted 1.7 seconds at mid-frequency with the banners retracted; the measured room came in at 1.7 seconds on the first try, which happens rarely enough that we wrote it down.
