Meridian Sessions Studio
A room-within-a-room isolation build for a studio sharing a wall with a working restaurant kitchen.
The site constraint decided the project: Meridian’s lease put the live room directly above a restaurant kitchen that runs until midnight, and directly below a residential floor. Isolation had to work in both directions, not just one.
We built a full room-within-a-room — an independently floated floor, walls off the structural frame, and a service penetration plan drafted before a single stud went in, because sealing a duct after drywall is up is where isolation numbers actually go to die. The client’s own test: neither neighbour has ever mentioned hearing a session, on either side.
